Amazon is ashopping website for people looking for cheap and easy ways to accquire goods. The design of the site is coloured white with blue and orange web 2.0 style with the items you buy, alligned to a gird formation. This effect is used to tidy up and to organise items rather than have them all over the place. The colours used in this site simbolise professionalism and safeness. (Orange and blue). They are opposite colours which makes them effective when things need to stand out, especially on black or white. The product images is a good way to show visually, what the customer is buying, and this is a good feature because it presents the quality of the product. The page took from 10-20 seconds to load fully and I don't think it was worth the wait. The layout of the text works, especially under the products because this is standard that people are used to, like thumbnails on your ciomputer with writing underneith.

The layout doesnt stand consistant on most pages, such as the home page, search results and product pages are all completly different. For isntance, the side bars dissapear when you view the full details of an item. The only thing that stays consistant is the top navigation bar which is a good thing because you can get anywhere from there and it show s that you are on the same site. The colour scheme helps you find things like buttons on white space. The white space serves as a readability factor.

The site is very basic and sometimes will appear boring to someone concious about design elements, because they have used all the basic web page defaults like black text on white with blue hyperlinks.

The website is bery bias to amarica because some features for example, the MP3 downloads can only be downloaded in a stare of the US, and you can't find this out unless you know about the law because it asks for a ZIP code when downloading but fails if it doesn't match your state.

Amazon is a very valid site because its customers need to know and see what they are buying and get all the information they need. Although some content is submitted by people that have created their own accounts on the site, which may see it to be not perfect. However the help pages seem to be as good as they need to be.
